We are searching for a dynamic and inspiring Musical Theatre teacher to take on the Song & Dance classes at our After School Clubs.Job Description Take Flight Academy of Performing Arts is a well-established, dynamic, part-time performing arts school for children, based in South East London, offering classes in Musical Theatre and Acting for ages 4-18, led by industry professionals. We are currently only looking for a Song & Dance teacher for our Wednesday After School Club but this could lead to other positions within our Academy going forward. The position is available now and we are looking for someone to start ASAP. The classes take place at: St Hilda's Church, Crofton Park, SE23 1PL CLASS TIMES AND AGE RANGES: Wednesday Little Flutters (ages 4-7) - 3:55 - 4:55pm Spread Your Wings Jnrs (ages 8-10) - 5:00 - 6:30pm Max 20 students per class. All teachers to arrive onsite 15 minutes prior to the start of the session. We are in need of someone until the end of this academic year at least, but this is an ongoing role should someone be able to continue. The academic year consists of 3 terms all running at 11 weeks per term. 33 weeks in total. Our classes are high energy & fun filled and each teacher is trained to inspire and nurture. The class focuses on scripts, songs and dance routines from popular shows, as we work towards a mini presentation to show to all parents at the end of each term. Each session helps build confidence and creativity in every child, whilst having fun and meeting new friends. Each of our age group learn a couple of musical theatre numbers a term and it is the appointees job to teach the chosen material vocally, as well as choreogrph & stage the numbers. Therefore, choreography experience is essential along with a strong singing voice. The appointee would work onlongside our current drama teacher who will be looking at drama scenes from the chosen musical. A Take Flight administative is also onsite at every session to deal with parent facing queries & venue etc. Experience and love of working with children of all ages is essential. Take Flight's approach is firm but fair, but with plenty of encouragement, inspiration, warmth, humour and fun thrown in! Job Responsibilities FEE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The freelance fee for the role is £25 per hour, £62.50 per 2.5-hour session. There is minimal requirement to spend time outside of the classes, learning the material set and creating the choreography for each number. All our Musical Theatre teachers are responsible for the delivery of coherent, enjoyable, and impressive end of term performances that will keep TF parents and students coming back for more and maintain Take Flight Academy's drive for the highest possible standard of performance.
