The Parkside Players is an established community theater located at 103-15 Union Turnpike in the heart of Forest Hills, Queens looking to hire a Music Director for their spring production of “James and the Giant Peach” based on the novel by Roald Dahl with music and lyrics by Justin Paul and Benj Pasek.

This creative team is seeking a collaborative and versatile accompanist, preferably with teaching experience and knowledge of contemporary musical theatre.
Responsibilities would include: attending one rehearsal a week, teaching and coaching the score to the cast, hiring a 3-4 piece orchestra and leading all 8 performances.
TOTAL of 24 services, including: 10 music rehearsals, 6 tech rehearsals and 8 performances.
PRODUCTION SCHEDULE
Rehearsals will be held at The Parkside Players in Forest Hills, Queens on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday March 19th and concluding Thursday, May 8th.
*The Music Director will choose which rehearsal they will be in attendance for each week.
Tech rehearsals for this production are scheduled for an afternoon sitzprobe on Sunday, May 11th and the evenings of Monday, May 12th through Friday, May 16th.
Performances of “James and the Giant Peach” are scheduled for:
Saturday, May 18th 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 19th 2:00 p.m.
Friday, May 23rd 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 24th 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 25th 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 31st 2:00pm & 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 1st 2:00 p.m.
