Description:

Disney Cruise Line® contracts musicians to fill our entertainment venues with lively tunes for our Guests of all ages to enjoy. Disney Cruise Line® Entertainment is currently accepting video submissions for multiple musician roles to perform across our fleet.

Disney Cruise Line contract opportunities are typically two to four months of onboard ship performance with the potential for additional contracts. Benefits include competitive pay, travel, room & board in a crew cabin, and elevated onboard privileges. We strongly encourage performers from all cultural backgrounds to submit.

Seeking the following roles:

Pop/Top 40 Duo: Two performers, of which both should sing and play an instrument. Backing tracks are permitted but should not overpower the live performance. Performers must be able to engage with Guests, take requests, and create a fun environment whether for an adult-exclusive or fun-for-all-ages event. Musicians may be scheduled in venues such as the atrium, adult lounge, pool side, or on Disney Cruise Line’s exclusive private island, Castaway Cay. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must especially Disney songs stylized in a new and unique way.

Guitarist: A versatile performer that carries a large repertoire of music that spans several musical genres, including popular hits from yesterday to today. Strong familiarization is a must. This highly skilled performer must have showmanship expertise to perform in a variety of venues (indoor and/or outdoor), engaging with Guests, taking requests, and creating a fun atmosphere that encourages Guests to return.

Violinist: An energetic violin player that carries a large repertoire of music that spans several musical genres, including classical pieces to popular hits from yesterday to today. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must. This highly skilled performer must have showmanship expertise to perform in a variety of venues (indoor and/or outdoor), engaging with Guests from afar, taking requests, and creating a fun atmosphere that encourages Guests to return while adhering to performance safety guidelines. Performer must be comfortable playing a pre-set playlist alongside other live musicians. Performer may also be asked to participate in other activities such as weddings and unique gatherings. Ability to read music is strongly encouraged.

Jazz Pianist: Strong jazz player who specializes in a New Orleans style as represented in Disney's The Princess and the Frog. Jazz pianist will appear nightly in the restaurant Tiana's Place alongside a vocalist and upright bass player. Jazzy piano runs, improvisations, and fluorishes are a MUST. Performers should be able to engage and create the atmosphere of New Orleans in style, musical knowledge, content and demeanor. When not performing in a scripted offering, jazz pianist may be scheduled in other venues, which would include more Top 40 and Pop Music of the trio’s choosing. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must, especially Disney songs in a jazz style. Ability to read music is strongly encouraged.

Floater Pianist: A lively piano player (non-singing role) that carries a large repertoire of music that spans several musical genres, including classical pieces to popular hits from yesterday to today. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must. This highly skilled performer must have showmanship expertise to perform in a variety of venues (indoor and/or outdoor), engaging with Guests from afar, taking requests, and creating a fun atmosphere that encourages Guests to return while adhering to performance safety guidelines. Performer may also be asked to participate in other activities such as weddings, a live musical trivia that requires microphone and communication skills, and/or other unique gatherings. Ability to read music is required. Cruise ship and/or Disney Parks experience a plus.

Entertainer Pianist: A vibrant piano player with strong vocals that carries a large repertoire of music that spans several musical genres, including popular hits from yesterday to today. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must. This highly skilled performer must have showmanship expertise to carry an entire adult venue each evening, engaging with Guests, taking requests, and creating a fun atmosphere that encourages Guests to return. Performer may also be asked to participate in other experiences (indoor and/or outdoor) such as weddings, unique gatherings, and specialty scripted offerings alongside other live musicians. Ability to read music is strongly encouraged.

All performers should be prepared to perform up to a maximum of 3 hours per day, 6 days per week for entire length of contract.

Length of contract and other details are not confirmed at this time but will be disclosed at time of offer if performers are selected to move forward.

Submission Instructions:

Interested performers should prepare a video with the following:

A brief introduction (30 seconds max)
A 2-3 minute demo video featuring short selections of your choosing but must include Pop/Top 40 selections of yesterday and today as well as Disney classics. Please show your unique style! Have a different spin on a classic? Show us!
Please do not submit musical groups outside of the description.

Deadline to submit is Thursday, May 12th, 2022. Don't wait until the deadline - please submit early.


Requirements:


If selected, performers will be hired as crew and must complete all applications and onboarding requirements.
Must be willing to comply with all Disney grooming guidelines and employment standards.
All performers must be at least 21 years of age.
All performers must be fluent in English (understanding, speaking, and writing).
Travel is required.
We strongly encourage performers from all cultural backgrounds and countries to submit.
