Description:
Gossamer Thread Circus are casting for multi-skilled circus artists for a new show in development for 2018.
The Project
250 Years of Circus in 60 Minutes will traverse the rich history of circus in all its myriad permutations and evolutions from 1768 to the present, using physical performance and minimalist, innovative set.
The development of the project will take place in several stages. Exact dates tbc pending funding confirmation, but provisional dates for initial phase of development are as follows:
Project Dates
Workshop Audition - 9th March 2018
Initial Research & Development Phase One - 25-31 March 2018
R&D Phase Two - 16-20 April 2018; 30 April-5 May
Work in Progress Showing - 5 May 2018
All above dates will take place at Seachange Arts in Great Yarmouth, UK and will be paid in line with ITC/Equity rates.
Second development phase & potential show dates to fall within the following months:
June - July 2018
September 2018
Who we would like to hear from
Multi-skilled circus artists (available to work in the UK/EU), ideally with experience in dance/physical theatre/movement. We are open to hear from performers of different disciplines
(including those with interesting additional skills e.g. the ability to play a musical instrument/puppetry etc.), but are particularly interested in: but are particularly interested in:
Juggling
Hand to hand
Acrobatics
Aerial
