Macy's Studios is currently hiring the following positions for our Santa experience at our 34th Street Flagship Store - Santaland.
Santa Claus ($21/hr)
Job Overview:
Santa Claus is the center of the Santaland experience and Macy’s primary holiday ambassador to the public during the Holiday Season. Santa Claus is expected to cheerfully greet and welcome all Santaland guests offering a portion of his time to diligently listen to their holiday thoughts and wishes. Santa Claus may be expected to appear on camera performing these duties through scripted interactions with Santaland Elves.
Essential Functions:
Conduct visits with Santaland guests
Ensure the magic of Santa is present in each of his visits
Cheerfully meet, greet and take photos with guests of all ages
Perform other duties as needed
Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
Qualifications and Competencies:
Ability and desire to work with children required
Customer service experience required
Effective communicator
Leadership
Customer Service
Punctuality
Cheerful and enthusiastic disposition
Ability to engage and entertain children
Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays or sales events depending on business needs
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged sitting required with people on your lap posing for photos
Elf/Train Usher ($16/hr)
The Santaland Elf and Train Usher positions are ambassadors of Santa Claus charged with helping to spread cheer and goodwill among our Santaland guests. You will be responsible for ensuring a wonderful holiday experience by employing a mix of entertainment and crowd control techniques to maintain the flow of guests passing through Santaland.
Essential Functions:
ELF:
Always be in Elf costume (provided by Macy’s)
Direct and expedite guest visits with Santa
Take photos (on proprietary equipment)
Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition
Perform other duties as needed
Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while on stage in front of guests
TRAIN USHER:
Check guests in for their reservation on proprietary equipment
Assist guests with creating a reservation
Field guests inquiries
Direct and expedite guest into the queue line
Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition
Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while on stage in front of guests
Always be in Usher costume (provided by Macy’s).
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Crowd control experience with both adults and children required
Customer service experience required
Performer experience preferred
Train Conductor ($21/hr)
The Train Conductor is talent-based position for Macy’s Santaland intended to provide interactive entertainment for customers outside of the walk-thru installation and queue.
Essential Functions:
Greet and interact with guests
Welcome them aboard the Santaland Express
Distribute Santaland passport cards
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Theatrical, acting and/or performance arts experience required
Exceptional customer service skills required
