Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced venue technician, ideally with significant experience in electrics or sound, but with a solid foundation in all venue technical disciplines and good rigging experience.
Job Description
The Venue Technician will carry out duties with due diligence as directed by the Technical Manager including responsibility for ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to at all times on work carried out in the get in, fit up, show running and get out of productions.

To work alongside other technical staff and casuals to create a safe and welcoming environment. To take responsibility for all technical equipment and to undertake in the training and safe operation of such equipment.

Our buildings include a 1500m2 flexible, flat floor performance and event space; five studios suitable for rehearsal, performance and recording; three rehearsal and education studios; two events, exhibition and function spaces; two large public foyers; bars; a caf ; an outdoor courtyard; and associated ancillary support facilities such as dressing rooms, workshops, green rooms and offices. The Venue Technician will support the Technical Manager on a wide range of activities including performances, rehearsals, workshops, meetings, weddings, parties and commercial events, and maintaining our Grade II and II* listed buildings.

Job Requirements
We're looking for an experienced venue technician, ideally with significant experience in electrics or sound, but with a solid foundation in all venue technical disciplines and good rigging experience.

You'll have venue-based health and safety management experience and you'll be comfortable working safely and effectively in a flexible, multi-arts venue, including supporting the management of the technical, safety and compliance interface with visiting shows and events. On a personal level, you'll be well-organised, team focused and have pride in producing the best result for our audiences

Job Responsibilities
Setting up and operating technical equipment in accordance to the sound, lighting and video requirements for concerts, rehearsals, theatrical and corporate events within the venue.

Meet requests as specified in Technical Riders and liaise and work with touring Production Managers, Lighting Designers and Sound Engineers when required on show days.

Rig and focus lighting according to designs, and rig, focus and operate in house and/or hired video projection equipment.

Be the main point of contact for event managers and the front of house team when acting as duty technician for events.

Build staging and set out seating for events alongside other crew members as required, and undertake and supervise seating and staging turnarounds.

Contribute to setting up daily technical requirements and general venue support.

Participate in the maintenance and inspection procedures of venue equipment.

Deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence, including supervising casual technicians.
