The company Les Baladins du Miroir is looking for two circus artists for its next creation
Disciplines: Trapeze, Chinese mast, straps or hooked on the ground AND musician
The creation project:
The next creation of Les Baladins will be designed for the marquee of the company ( 380 seats), a street version will also be imagined. It will include 2 musicians, 4 actors and 2 circus artists. Director: Gaspar Leclère - Writing: Jean-Pierre Dopagne.
Schedule:
Creation scheduled for 2021, date to be specified depending on sanitary conditions
Tours from 2021 until 2024 (to be specified according to sales of the show)
Hearing in laboratory form for 5 days: from February 8 to 12, 2021
First set of rehearsals: between March and April 2021
Second set of rehearsals and premieres: ongoing
Description of the profile sought
Candidate profile:
Disciplines:
Trapeze, Chinese mast, straps or hooked on the ground AND musician. Singing would be a plus. All candidates must be able to present one of these disciplines and be a musician. In addition, they will integrate a theater company. Ease with the game is therefore essential.
Company life:
Working in a traveling company is not only coming to play your show, it is also sharing a moment of your life with the other members of the artistic, technical and administrative team. Candidates must be able to live this nomadic and collective life. They do not necessarily have to have their traveling place, the company owns them and can organize the movement of vehicles and caravans or trailers.
Temporality:
The touring periods are long (around 50 performances / year excluding travel, rehearsals, etc.) the traveling time is long and requires great availability from the artistic teams. Possible place to live or tour by caravan or trailer at the Baladins' home port: Le Stampia (in Jodoigne - Belgium) with a rehearsal place made available depending on the period (marquee or rehearsal room).
Important before applying: artists who work with Les Baladins must give priority to the company's project during the show's broadcast time. This does not prevent us from working elsewhere as well.
It is a theatrical performance where circus disciplines will be integrated into history and dramaturgy. Artists who apply should be aware that this is not a staging of their number but of circus techniques in the service of a theatrical work.
