Description:Job SummaryJoin Reallynice to make a sensory circus experience, co-created with young people with complex needs. Job Description See Saw is a sensory circus collaboration between Reallynice, Flying Fantastic, and the learners and teachers at Cherry Garden school, Peckham. Harnessing innovative circus equipment, together we will be making a creative experience designed to be enjoyed and explored predominantly by young people with complex needs and their teachers and/or carers, playing with the theme of balance through difference. Project work timeline:A total of 4 days between 8th January - 27th March. Project fee: £532.00 (£31,920 FTE) The project objective is to work alongside our team of performers, creatives, sensory specialists and teachers from Cherry Garden school to introduce the young participants (students at Cherry Garden School) to the elements that make up circus performance. Then to encourage them to interact with those elements to inform our final showing. This will involve: - Supporting the performers in experimenting with the base aerial set up (two aerial slings run through pulleys so they counterweight each other. - Advising on adjustments, improvements to the existing system. - Leading on devising ways for the young participants or future audiences to engage with the aerial set up safely. This will be supported by mentors with experience and specialisation in working with young people with complex needs. - Designing and quoting for the construction of a transportable rig that could support the production in touring (to be built into the next funding application for the next stage of the project) - Attending some rehearsals/workshops in Feb/Mar 2024 Job Requirements We are looking to collaborate with someone who: - is adaptable - is up for a challenge - has experience in rigging for aerial performance - has experience/interest working with young people with complex needs - has experience in community arts/ performance in non-traditional spaces - has experience in designing/constructing transportable/ touring aerial rigs Desirable but not essential: - has an enhanced DBS - has an understanding of creative access Job Overview Job Title: Rigging Consultant Salary: £30k-£40k (pro-rata) Hours: Part time Artform: Performing arts Role: Creative Contract: Contract Closing date: Fri, 08 Dec 2023 Location: London How to Apply We know that it can be challenging to apply to so many opportunities at the moment, and we don’t want you to do any extra work, so let’s keep this simple.
