Description:The dance company of Volkstheater Rostock is looking for highly skilled and creatively curious dance artists (regardless of gender) for the upcoming season 2023/24.Where: Volkstheater Rostock, Rostock, Germany When: Audition by invitation only. Deadline for applications: March 31, 2023 The dance company of Volkstheater Rostock under the direction of Kellymarie Sullivan and Daniele Varallo (Compagnie Management, Choreographic assistant, Class- and Rehearsal direction) and Laura Witzleben (House choreographer) is seeking experienced artists with excellent improvisation skills, theatricality and artistic generosity. High level of contemporary dance technique is essential (classical base is of advantage) although we welcome artists of various dance backgrounds. The creative urge and drive to dive into various dance styles is important to us, contributing to the company´s future dynamic repertoire. Other artistic competences such as singing or playing an instrument are appreciated. The Tanzcompagnie of the Rostock Volkstheater with eight dancers is an independent section of this theater. We do have a big and a small stage and do one dancepiece on each of the stages per season. In addition, the ensemble is involved in co-productions with all other departments (Musical / Drama / Opera / Acting / additional dance productions). This requires a wide range of artistic knowledge and a curiousity. Every member of our dance compagnie has also a chance to be involved in teaching dance content as well as cultural knowledge to children and young adults in various workshops and projects.
