We’d like to invite 4 individuals to join us in the studio as we look to expand HUMANHOOD and find new dancers to work with the company.
After the creation and international touring of our latest large-scale work ∞ {Infinite}, Co-Artistic Directors Julia Robert and Rudi Cole are returning to the studio with HUMANHOOD Company dancers this summer for an intense period of movement research and dancers’ development. We will take this time to start working with new dancers with the aim to find performers who might join the company for current and future productions.
Instead of the standard audition format, we prefer to invest more time in dancers, for both dancers and choreographers to get to know each other, and more specifically explore Julia and Rudi’s ethos and practice.
We will hold an initial 1-2 day audition, after which we will invite successful candidates to join us in the studio for the movement research and dancers’ development period. We will provide a financial contribution for this period.
During this period, you will have 1-2-1 meetings with Julia & Rudi to assess your development and by the end of the research you will be notified if you are successful in joining the company, under a professional or apprenticeship contract.
Movement Research Period (if selected after the audition)
Venue: Institute of the Arts Barcelona (Sitges, Spain)
Dates:
● Tuesday 27 – Friday 30 June
● Monday 3 – Friday 7 July
● Monday 10 – Wednesday 12 July
● Saturday 15 – Monday 17 July
● Wednesday 19 – Sunday 23 July
It is compulsory to attend all the above dates.
Movement Research and Dancers’ Development Financial Contribution:
£1,000 for the full research period, paid in 2 installments (at the beginning and the end of the period)
You will be responsible for arranging your own travel and accommodation.
No contributions can be made towards any travel or visas required for the audition.
