Organization Description
Located in the Sablons – Bords de l'Huisne district, Le Plongeoir – Cité du Cirque has the mission of supporting the creation of the current circus, the distribution of shows, teaching, cultural actions. These missions are deployed through a unique societal project promoting encounters between artists, inhabitants of the territories, which is called the daily circus. In the process of obtaining the Pôle national Cirque label, Le Plongeoir implements a season and organizes the Le Mans fait son Cirque festival each year in June with the support of a team of 25 permanent employees and numerous temporary and intermittent staff.
Le Plongeoir – Cité du Cirque is approved for amateur practice by the French Federation of Circus Schools. Every week, Le Plongeoir welcomes more than 1,000 practitioners, including 550 students in weekly lessons. Circus teaching courses and workshops are conducted with audiences from the educational, medico-social, disability and integration fields. Le Plongeoir also provides specialized circus arts education with the Lycée Le Mans Sud.
Job Description
MISSION
To teach and promote the circus arts
Under the authority of the head of the Teaching and Practices division, within a team of ten speakers and speakers, you ensure the missions of initiation and improvement in the circus arts and participate at the different times linked to the educational activity of the establishment.
You design, animate and evaluate, solo and in a team, sessions, workshops, introductory courses and coherent learning cycles as part of a leisure or deepening activity: - Supervision of
workshops all ages, weekly lessons and introductory courses (children, teenagers, adults).
- Supervision of weekly specialty courses in acrobatic disciplines.
- Supervision of workshops for school audiences (including option in and teaching specialty circus in high school).
- Supervision of workshops outside the walls with project follow-up.
- Participation in the preparation and supervision of shows and student outings.
- Participation in the life of the Teachings and Practices center and of the establishment (seminars, meetings, assessments, events, etc.).
- Participation in the overall logistics of teaching materials and use according to safety recommendations.
Depending on your experience and background, you will be able to carry out certain assignments related to the educational activities of the establishment, such as:
- Coordination and monitoring of specific educational projects.
- Supervision of adapted workshops, with an appetite for the circus as support for actions with a social dimension (workshops in the neighbourhoods).
POSITION CONDITIONS
CDI full time 35h, 45 weeks with possible modulation of working time.
Evening and weekend work (Saturday morning) during the school term.
Distribution of working time: 55% face to face teaching, 15% preparation for sessions, 30% meetings and life of the establishment.
Possibility of part-time.
Description of the profile sought
Holder of a certificate or diploma in teaching circus arts (BIAC, TIAC, BPJEPS or DE), or a professional circus school with teaching experience.
Permit B required (travel outside the walls).

Pedagogical and artistic mastery of acrobatic techniques (acrobatics specialty profile).
Versatility in teaching the basics of other circus techniques.
