The National Circus School of Châtellerault – ENCC – was founded in 1995. The school's mission is to provide training in the circus arts. For several years, the school has chosen to focus on creative circus. In addition to all the activities carried out by the circus arts training, the school hosts circus companies in residence .

The school encourages experimentation, reflection and creativity and plans to strengthen the relationship between the residents' new creations and the artistic training of the circus arts students. The school aims to create an active, critical and dynamic environment.
