Are you a circus artist, and are you interested in investigation and innovation? You can be part of the first edition of FICA - Festival Independiente de Circo Actual (Independent Festival of Actual Circus)

FICA Festival Independiente de Circo Actual is a meeting that responds to the need to generate independent spaces for training, research, and enjoyment of the circus in Mexico City. Through the activities of FICA, we seek to contribute to the professionalization of contemporary circus in Mexico and reflect on the work of the circus arts as a social subject, as well as offer quality shows at an affordable cost and attract new audiences to the current scene of the circus.

We extend this call to circus artists of any discipline to be part of the programming of the first edition of FICA in any of the following modalities:
a) Circus shows (35 to 60 minutes)
b) Acts or pieces (from 5 to 15 minutes)
c) Workshops and seminars
d) Other proposals

Interested persons may register in the following form https://rb.gy/nkdni from the publication of this call until May 15, 2023. The FICA will take place during the first week of October 2023 in different venues From Mexico City. The selected artists agree to cover their transportation, lodging, and food expenses during
the days of the festival. An economic remuneration is offered to be agreed with each group or artist in correspondence to the needs of both those who share activities and the public, as well as the personnel and spaces necessary for their realization. The selected proposals will be announced on June 15 on the FICA networks.
