Our Technical Manager oversees all Entertainment Technical functions including our Entertainment venues, AV Infrastructure,4D Theatre, TV’s & Monitors and all Entertainment Guest Core and Consumer offerings. The Technical Manager creates, manages, and supports all Technical production lists for install, strike, storage and maintenance support a wide array of Core and Consumer Entertainment offerings for the Resort including Main Stage Show Venues, Secondary Stages, the 4D Theatre and Hotel Stages and Experiences. Key Objectives: Oversee and actively participate in all components of Entertainment Technical planning, production and daily operations including administrative functions, show quality, company management, leadership support of the Entertainment Technical Captains & Technicians Serve as Technical Planner and Director during all phases of Production supporting Core & Consumer Entertainment development, deployment, operation, maintenance, and strike. Create, Foster, Promote and Engage in a professional Entertainment culture which provides growth, development, fun and an atmosphere which puts a smile on the face of a child through the outreach of each Entertainment offering. Represent Entertainment at all Resort safety committee meetings and work to help the Entertainment Department live and maintain Actively participate in forward product development executing within the aligned overall Entertainment multiyear strategy vision. Develop & drive key innovative, development, and department enhancement processes for the technical division. Main Responsibilities: Responsible for leading all Technical assistant managers and technicians supporting Entertainment and Resort responsibilities. This includes areas such as theming rigging, lighting, audio, video, pyrotechnics, special effects, 4D cinema, thematic carpentry, show control, Digital signage, along with other effects within Resort experiences. Develop and institute a technical career ladder which promotes growth, development, and promotional paths for the technical team. Oversees the technical on-boarding process including new Technical Model Citizens Training, Department Orientations, Safety Training, and in field training prior to operating in role. Responsible for managing the technical labor budget, maintenance and operating expenses, procurement process and Capital projects as assigned. Serves as member of the Entertainment Leadership and Production Teams requiring attendance to all production meetings, technical rehearsals, and final event/show sign-offs. Actively participates on crew calls, shadow and learn operational positions, and provide support to the Technical Team in the means needed for team success. Works in continual partnership with Creative Show Direction and Production & Operational Leadership to maintain show quality based on the original creative intent by reviewing daily show reports to quickly and effectively action trouble call and repair notes. Ensure all Technical Entertainment shops, warehouses, and exterior storage locations of equipment and outdoor theming are kept clean and safe. Serve as an onsite Technical Director for all productions acting as key communicator to all technical processes, creating and developing technical load in / load out schedules, developing daily punch lists, creating work assignments, arranging equipment, and supporting all production processes. Responsible for ensuring all technical production and archive books are up to date including all required Standard Operating Procedures, Permits, Risk Assessments, Training Logs, Equipment Logs, and other Technical supporting documents. Advocates and Actively participates in maintaining a safe, fun and professional work environment for all Entertainment & Events teams including MC Events, Department Team Building, Department Meetings, and being an active leader within daily operations. Manages the daily Technical Entertainment budget specific to the needs to show, event, and resort support costs including health & safety, shop supplies, shelf stock, production supplies, and other key essential expenses supporting the business in tracking and procurement. Contributes to Production Books by providing required resources included but not limited too all installation/strike production schedules, equipment lists and manuals, training documents, SDS and other related Safety Documents, line diagrams, renderings, and all other technical production elements to support operation and remounting of the Entertainment offering. Ensure technician staffing remains at adequate levels to support both daily and forward production offerings by developing a staffing and recruitment plan, cross training plan, and action accordingly cross referencing all staffing grids and line schedules for accurate needs. Administrative duties include payroll, recognition platforms, schedules, recordkeeping, performance tracking documents, and personnel files Advocates and Actively participates in maintaining a safe, fun and professional work environment for all Entertainment teams including conducting Department Team Building sessions, Department Meetings, and being an active and engaged leader. Serve as Department Duty Manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Background and Experience: (3+) Years of proven experience in Entertainment technical production & design, technical operation, technical production processes, event installation and strike and technical troubleshooting (3+) Years of Theatre/Entertainment Technical Management/Leadership experience – theme park / cruise ship preferred (3+) Years of proven ability to lead diversely skilled Entertainment teams supported by positive performance evaluations. (3+) Years of Capital Budget spending and project tracking Must have strong understanding of all creative, production and technical processes Ability to read and interpret CAD style programs, drawings, and other construction documents Working knowledge of Vectorworks, Q-Sys Programming, Nion Media Matrix, Alcorn McBride, Yamaha, GrandMA and Shure Audio Systems preferred. Familiarity with industry safety and implementation standards within the Entertainment workplace. Must have ability to work at heights, around water and operate heavy machinery such as a forklift, aerial work platform, and drive company vehicles including large trucks. Trusted leader that guides with integrity and fosters a professional work culture Successfully manage Technical budgets including capital projects as assigned Proven evaluation & problem-solving skills Ability to work days, nights, and over holidays to support Peak and Off-Peak Entertainment offerings , night Event Load ins across all Resort functions. Proficient in Microsoft & Adobe software products. Knowledge of purchasing and reporting systems. Demonstrated initiative, communication and interpersonal skills; Confident and outgoing presence with the ability to professionally interact with various levels of team members and leadership. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with a detailed oriented style and strict deadlines. Education: Bachelor’s degree in theatre/technical design/production or related field or equivalent professional experience within Entertainment/Theatre industry. ** Please consider whether you'll be able to travel to and from the Resort.
