The existing stage manager of new musical Seize The Cheese! has suddenly dropped out for unavoidable personal reasons - experienced new stage manager quickly sought. Rehearsals commence 9 October.
Job Description
Seize The Cheese! is a funny and uplifting new musical loosely inspired by the infamously dangerous cheese-rolling event in Gloucestershire. Seize The Cheese! has won ATG's "Premieres" competition, and has been awarded a 10-day run at New Wimbledon Theatre Studio in November. It has also won a lottery-funded project grant from Arts Council England.
We seek a friendly, supportive, experienced Stage Manager who wants to work with a small, friendly, supportive team. The SM is likely to be experienced in musicals for small and fringe productions. The SM will be responsible for running a small backstage crew, and for the smooth running of our rehearsals, get-in, tech, previews, show run, get-out. They will be working with a cast of 12 and a band of 3 or 4. The successful candidate needs to be comfortable taking the initiative when problems arise, and being calm and capable at all times.
