Dear performing artists,
I am looking for a performer for my next solo creation. I am a choreographer from Greece,
based in Rotterdam. I graduated from the Choreography Department of the Fontys Dance
Academy in 2018 and I am currently completing my Master in Artistic Research at the
University of Amsterdam. Since three years I have been developing my own choreographic
method, The Dreamstate of Movement. This method focuses on imagination and how it can
become the main trigger for the production of movement. I work a lot with improvisation
and my main departure point for creating material is the performer’s interpretation of the
tasks I give. Everyone is welcome to apply, regardless their age, gender, nationality and
previous dance training, performers from disciplines (which focus on physicality) other than
dance are also welcome. I am looking for someone with strong improvisation skills,
openness to explore their physicality and vivid imagination. The performer needs to be
based in the Netherlands, can be an intern or a professional.
This is a paid project*
*It is important to know that this project is completely independent from subsidies and art
organisations right now. Everything concerning organisation, covering expenses and
promotion is arranged by me. I can offer a small fee coming from my own savings to the
performer because I do not want them to work for free. This fee will be a total of 600-800
euros. If the performer has to travel, I will try to cover all of the travel costs. Please note
that I am applying for additional funding, so there is the possibility for a bigger budget.
