Description:New Creations Collective are looking for 2 Male and 1 Female Dancer to join the company for the upcoming summer tour of The Secret Garden.Where: South East England When: 26th May-20th August 2022 Deadline for applications: 5pm 23rd April 2022 New Creations Collective are looking for 2 Male and 1 Female dancer to join the company for their production of The Secret Garden. The production is an outdoor show touring to open air theatres, parks and heritage sites across the South East England region this summer. Dancers must have at least 3 years of professional vocational training in both ballet and contemporary. All dancers must have very good natural acting ability as storytelling is at the heart of the performance. Due to some more rural performance locations the ability to drive would be useful but is not essential. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as the company cannot sponsor overseas visas. Dancers must be very quick at picking up material, must be reliable, willing to work outdoors, fully committed to excellence and professionalism and passionate about the company’s chief principles and aims. We are open to hearing from both experienced professionals and recent graduates. Applicants MUST be available for ALL of the following dates. We cannot consider any applicants who cannot make ALL rehearsal and performance dates. Production Dates: Rehearsal Days – Thursday 26th May (Mary only – Male dancers are not required on this date) Whole Company Rehearsals – 28th May-1st June (No Rehearsals on 2nd & 3rd June due to Jubilee Bank Holidays) Outdoor Pilot Performance/Open Dress Rehearsal – 4th June Confirmed Performance Dates: Fri 10th June Sat 11th June Sat 18th June Sat 25th June Wed 29th June Sun 10th July Sat 16th July Fri 22nd July Sat 23rd July Sun 24th July Wed 27th July Sun 31st July Sat 13th August Wed 17th August Sat 20th August We will be looking at online submissions first, shortlisted candidates will then be invited for an in-person audition and interview on Monday 9th May in Kent. (Applicants must therefore be available and in the UK on this date!) We are looking to cast the following roles; Mary Lennox -Small female dancer with a youthful look (5ft 3 and under) -Strong pointework essential -Expressive natural acting ability – very good at storytelling -Very strong classical and contemporary technique. -Must be very quick at picking up material as we only have 1 week of rehearsals! Colin -Small male dancer with a youthful look (5ft 7 and under) -Expressive natural acting ability – good at storytelling -Excellent classical and contemporary technique -Good at partner work Mr Craven/Ben Weatherstaff -Taller male dancer (5ft 10+) -Expressive natural acting ability – good at storytelling -Excellent classical and contemporary technique -Good at partner work Pay Rehearsal pay will be £500 plus a £50 travel allowance for the production week (28th May-4th June) There will be additional pay for Mary’s extra day of rehearsal on 26th May. Performances will be paid at £120 p/single show and £150 p/double show. Travel allowances will also be given for performances.
