Le Groupe Noces was founded by choreographer and director Florence Bernad. She created her first piece in 2001, and has since established herself as a representative of physical and theatrical dance, virtuoso, emotional, with a particular attachment to reaching out to all audiences. His experience in moving from a subject for adults to a universe for children gives him a singular freedom of tone. She creates a representation/fiction, which ranges from the intimate to the spectacular. Today, his creations combine acrobatics, dance and text. Per season, between 100 and 150 performances are given, with 2 or 3 shows from the repertoire. The company has been based for 10 years at Friche Mimi in Lavérune, near Montpellier (34).
Baal is a dance and acrobatics piece, performed by 5 men and a group of amateur women, voluntary participants from the touring venues. Together, these men and women call for the deconstruction of patriarchy.
Supported by projected and chanted texts, written by a collective of authors and adolescents, Baal highlights the aspirations and hopes of choreographer and director Florence Bernad. Gender equality is at the heart of all his reflections, and questions his creativity committed to listening to societal issues. Inspired by the conclusion of an article by Leïla Slimani in Libération, following the #MeToo movement, she sees Baal as a manifestation of mixed joy and rage.
In each theater where we perform Baal, we collaborate with women singers, actresses or athletes from associations or local high schools. During the performances, they become performers in their own right alongside the acrobatic dancers. Florence Bernad and Gypsy David come a few months before the performances, to initiate and transmit the movements on stage and the sung score. This stage presence work is demanding and joyful. It offers exchange, debate and reflection on the subject of feminism, the constraints of gender, and the omnipotence of patriarchal behavior. A close collaboration is established between the company and the places which welcome us, the choir directors, the teachers and directors.
Florence wants to work with artists concerned by this awareness.

Acrodance is today a practice taught in several circus schools in France and elsewhere.
Its definition is free and vast and of course, several visions, styles and movement are possible. Florence Bernad comes from contemporary dance and Contact Improvisation. Since 2015, his artistic development and his gestural research have been enriched by acrobatics.
