Immediate Opening for Lighting Technician at the New York production of STOMP.
Must be in New York City and available to start immediately.
Individual will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the performance of installed electrical equipment, and ensuring that the technical and aesthetic standards of the show’s lighting are regularly met.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Keeping open lines of communication with stage management
- Maintaining the electrics equipment
- Updating show paperwork
- Assisting with off-site press events as scheduled
- Liaising with the creators, rehearsal director, and/or designers to ensure that the show’s aesthetic is being maintained
- Attending all meetings and rehearsals as scheduled
- Training substitute board ops when needed
Specific show responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing preset duties
- Executing show cues as well as changeover and post show duties in a safe, professional and timely manner for 8 performances per week.
Additional performances will be required during holiday seasons.
Qualified candidates must have an extensive background and relevant expertise in theatrical lighting/electrics. Substantial experience in maintaining and repairing production equipment is required. Basic carpentry skills are preferred. Moreover, applicants must be safety conscious, detail-oriented, organized, and articulate; maintaining a positive, affable disposition while working is critical.
This is a Full Time Position, non-union, with a benefits package that include insurance plans and paid vacation time. Additional paid prop and carpentry work is available on occasion.
Compensation will be $800/week.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
