DESCRIPTION
Emursive Productions, the producing company behind the McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More and The Overlook Bar, home of Speakeasy Magick is seeking a Lighting Supervisor to work on their newest production Life And Trust. The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance of the building’s lighting and the general supervision of the Conwell Tower lighting team. The Lighting Supervisor will work closely with the Audio Supervisor to ensure successful and sustainable operation of technical production elements for Life & Trust and private and in-house special events. The Lighting Supervisor will also work closely with the Production Manager to implement and uphold new lighting designs or upgrades to the building’s lighting infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s lighting operations, live lighting production, lighting advancement and manage other necessary operations to facilitate the functionality of the lighting department, all while remaining in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:
-General upkeep and maintenance of the building’s lighting installations to ensure it meets health and safety standards as well as legal requirements, and to the quality of the intention of the design.
-Supervision of the lighting team: hiring, training, noting, scheduling, and coordination.
-Plan and coordinate all installations for internal and private events, as well as any building modifications where lighting is needed
-Project Manage the lighting scope of in house events and projects
-Serve as the person of contact for auxillary lighting designers for events
-Monitor resources and facilitate departmental purchasing and financial tracking
-Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary
-Maintain adequate inventory of stock lighting equipment and tools
-Oversee and supervise all lighting staff and external lighting related contractors
-Execute equipment audits and record-taking policies
-Coordinate with Production Management on the implementation of new building projects
-Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
-Inspect buildings’ lighting elements for the need for repairs or renovations
-Manage and execute the maintenance of all lighting equipment and systems
-Maintain Lighting Shop to ensure a safe, compliant working environment
-Keep financial and non-financial records
-Perform analysis and forecasting.
-The Lighting Supervisor will be familiar with the run and action of Life and Trust, and make time to view the show as an audience member regularly and sub into show run track if needed.
-Other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of professional experience, 2+ in a management role with specific experience overseeing production crews and electrics
- Associate of Arts or BFA in Technical Theatre or related field or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read stage lighting plots, wiring diagrams and other technical drawings.
- Expertise in trouble-shooting, and executing electrics including but not limited to hanging, circuiting, and focusing.
- Experience in non-traditional theatrical spaces and architectural lighting.
- Ability to provide onsite supervision, leadership, and instruction to execute installations in accordance with designers’ visions and safe working practices as needed.
-Demonstrate strong collaborative, communication, and technical skills
Environmental Factors:
*Can complete responsibilities and duties under the following conditions when needed*
-Strobing lights
-Continuous, large quantities of haze
-Minimal to no lighting
-Required theatrical half masks worn by all employees during performance
-Numerous trips up and down six floors, unaided by the elevator
-Working at heights (ladders, lifts and scaffolding)
