The Communication Studies and Theatre Department at Mercer University is seeking a Lecturer/Technical Director. This position is responsible for managing production needs and providing course instruction. Educational management and supervision of student workers with scenic construction, as well as mentorship of student creative research are essential components of this job. For Mercer Theatre Program productions, the Lecturer/Technical Director will be responsible for maintaining a safe and educational working environment during the entire production process. The primary responsibility is construction and realization of scenic designs. Building management and equipment maintenance of our 90 seat black box theatre which includes tracking and maintaining lighting, sound, projection, and tool equipment inventory is also included in this position. Other design responsibilities are negotiated show by show based on student research requirements, the demands of the show, and faculty interest.
