DESCRIPTION
David Geffen School of Drama at Yale/Yale Repertory Theatre seeks a self-motivated and positive individual to join our staff as Lead Projections Engineer. As projections for live entertainment is a highly reactive and evolving field, the most important attributes in a team member are as follows: patience, willingness to learn new skills and technologies, and the ability to systematically identify and troubleshoot technical issues. Desire to work alongside graduate students, simultaneously learning from them and teaching new skills is a must.

Some responsibilities include:

Participates in load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals, and strike of productions.
Substitutes for projection programmer or operator as needed.
Serves as camera operator and editor for archival filming of productions.
Serves as the Projection Engineer for productions, outside organizations or special events using the theatre’s venues as assigned.
Supervises appropriate students and staff.
Attends appropriate meetings.
Oversees and participates in the maintenance and repair of projection department facilities, tools, and equipment.
Works occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
This position reports to the YRT/DGSD Projections Supervisor. Compliance with Yale University and Yale Repertory Theatre COVID-19 policies is required. Details can be found at https://covid19.yale.edu/

Rate is $30.29/hour, overtime-eligible after 37.5 hours per week. This is a recurring, seasonal position from approximately mid-August through mid-May. Preferred start date of August 13, 2024, or as soon as possible after.
