Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Lead Lighting Technician to take charge of all lighting elements for Eireann, the newest touring production from A Taste of Ireland. This role is ideal for a confident, hands-on lighting operator who thrives in fast-paced touring environments and can deliver a consistent, high-quality show across varied venues.

You'll be responsible for setting up the lighting rig, programming cues, operating the show, and managing the lighting pack during transport and load-ins. Working closely with the Stage Manager and local crews, you'll adapt quickly to different spaces and ensure the lighting design is executed cleanly and on time.

The show features a detailed cue structure and a consistent lighting design, which may require moderate to significant adjustments depending on each venue's setup. You'll also assist with general pack-in/pack-out duties and help troubleshoot related technical issues on the road.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all lighting setup, programming, and operation on tour

Execute lighting cues during performances with precision

Maintain lighting rig and troubleshoot any issues

Liaise with venue tech teams to adapt and patch into house systems

Ensure lighting design integrity across all venues

Support pack-in, pack-out, and broader tech duties as needed

Accommodation, travel, and per diems provided. Fixed-term touring contract commencing early August.

Job Requirements
3+ years' experience as a lighting technician in touring or professional theatre

Confident programming and operating lighting desks (preferably ETC or similar)

Strong understanding of lighting networks, patching, and fixture types

Able to adapt lighting designs to different venue layouts

Experience working with timecoded or cue-based shows

Skilled in troubleshooting under pressure

Physically fit and comfortable with rigging and pack-in/pack-out tasks

Strong communication and collaboration with touring and local crews

Full-time availability from early August through the touring period

Job Responsibilities
Set up and operate the touring lighting rig in each venue

Program and run lighting cues for all performances

Adjust and adapt the lighting design to suit each venue

Maintain and troubleshoot all lighting equipment on the road

Liaise with local venue staff to integrate and patch systems

Ensure the lighting design is delivered accurately and consistently

Assist with pack-in and pack-out alongside the touring crew

Support a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment
