Jazz Duoexpired

Disney Cruise Line

  • North America
Posted on: Nov. 30, 2021

Description:

Disney Cruise Line® contracts musicians to fill our entertainment venues with lively tunes for our Guests of all ages to enjoy. Disney Cruise Line® Entertainment is currently accepting video submissions for a New Orleans-Style Jazz Duo with blues flair to perform on the Disney Wonder in our French Quarter Lounge that celebrates the story of Princess Tiana and the culturally rich environment of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.

Disney Cruise Line contract opportunities are typically two to four months of onboard ship performance with the potential for additional contracts. Benefits include competitive pay, travel, room & board in a crew cabin (one shared bunk bed cabin), and elevated onboard privileges. We strongly encourage performers from all cultural backgrounds to submit.

Seeking the following role:

Jazz Duo: Two performers with strong vocals who can engage in the storytelling of New Orleans, the French Quarter, and Disney’s Princess and the Frog through their music. Instrumentation should have one performer on piano and a second performer on another instrument. Multi-instrumentalists a plus. Performers MUST be able to engage and create the atmosphere of New Orleans in style, musical knowledge, content, and demeanor. When not performing in the French Quarter Lounge, musicians may be scheduled in other venues such as the atrium, which would include more Top 40 and pop music. Strong familiarization with Disney songs is a must, especially Disney songs in a jazz style. Performers should be prepared to perform up to a maximum of 4 hours per day, 7 days per week for entire length of contract.

First contract is expected to begin in January 2022 and last 3-4 months. Additional opportunities may be available.

Submission Instructions:

Interested duos should prepare a video with the following:

A brief introduction of both members of the duo (30 seconds max)
A 2-3 minute demo video featuring short selections in a New Orleans jazz style, at least one or two of which should be Disney songs. Top 40 music can also be submitted, but all videos must include jazz selections.
Please do not submit musical groups outside of the description.
