A new music composition competition with three categories: chamber ensemble (1 to 16 players and/or singers, up to 15 minutes), orchestra (up to 12 minutes) and mixed chorus in 4 to 8 parts (up to 6 minutes). Composers of any age or nationality may enter; works written before 2000 are not eligible.
Each category winner receives $1,000 and a performance at the festival in Normal, Illinois, on March 25, 2027. Orchestra winners are performed by the university symphony orchestra and chorus winners by its concert choir.
