Description:Currents is a project with a main team of 5 traveling artists onboard our sailboat. We stop in harbors around theworld where we team up with local artists, environmentalists, activists and scientists. The theme of the performance is symbiosis, viewed from a mutualistic perspective, as a co-existence between two parties in a morphological connection. We will explore symbiosis between identities, people and nature, between different cultures and different species. https://www.actingforclimate.com/currents Currents has two performance and collaboration formats: 1. The freestanding performance: That involves the 5 traveling artists. It's a site specific performance that requires around 3 days of Rigg up/ preparation and adaptation of the show to the location of the performance. It can be played at festivals , in collaboration with theaters or whoever has the organizational capacity to buy the performance , organize the necessary permissions and get an audience. 2. The collaborative performance: Involving 1-4 local artists and a collaboration with local environmentalists or experts. The format for the collaborative performance is created with the local artist for the time period of 1-2 weeks. The established performance functions as a base line, while on top of that implementing creative ideas and intellectual impulses together with the local artists and environmentalists. As we aim to work mindfully with our resources in a rather regenerative manner, we aim to play a minimum of 2-3 shows per location. THE TOUR 2024-2027 The Mediterranean The Tour begins in Mallorca, from where our sail begins, followed by residencies, progress showings and performances in France, Italy, Tunisia , Spain and Morocco before heading to Canary Islands in late September /beginning of October . The World Tour In December 2024 we will cross the Atlantic and embark on our worldwide sailing tour including the Caribbean, the Pacific islands, Asia (from East to South) and Africa, before we head back to Europe and sail up the European Atlantic coast, ending our tour anchoring in Norway. We are looking for one or two Producers / Project Managers (existing team appreciated) Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: General project management Production + communication Fundraising Logistics Administration MAIN TASKS Fundraise: apply for funds for the production and touring periods Sell the performance Apply for residencies Apply for diverse festivals Organize, plan and find international collaborations with partners Maintain effective communication with partners while on Mediterranean and World Tour Facilitate the flow of information between production, partners and artistic crew while on Tour Requirements:Previous experience working in the artistic and/or activistic field as a Producer / Project ManagerBroad professional network in the field of Circus / Dance / Physical Theater / Street Performance, within their country of residence, as well as internationally Previous experience with fundraising and applying funding applications Exceptional presentation, communication and organizational skills Ideally committing to the project for the total project time of 3 years Seeing value in combining arts and climate activism and being genuinely interested in the well being of this Planet Fluent in English - feeling comfortable in both writing and speaking; other language skills are welcome Being motivated and able to work well in a team Prepare To Present:Please contact us via Email, telling us about yourself, your past working experience and why you would like towork with and for Currents. Minimum commitment: January until March 2024 (focus on fundraising) Ideally we would like to hire production managers that would be interested to commit to Currents for the whole production period and tour (January 2024 - end of 2027). *As we are still in the process of securing funds, we can not yet secure you a contract until 2027. The collaboration may be extended to future projects.
