Circus Harmony, St. Louis’ only social circus, complete circus school, and pre-professional training program is seeking an Acrobatics Coach to teach and choreograph for our this multi-faceted, face-paced organization. The Acrobatics Coach is a key member of our Teaching Artists team since we believe Acrobatics to be the primary core skill for all circus arts. We are seeking a reliable and adaptable individual who is highly knowledgeable about acrobatic technique and able to work independently and as a team. Needs to be calm and creative with a good sense of humor to appreciate and survive the daily challenges of supporting a social circus that serves young people with a range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Must be a person of good character whose values align with Circus Harmony Code of Conduct. interested in serving as a role model and mentor while working for a unique mission-driven, social circus organization. Will need to be willing to relocate to St. Louis and own a car.

Reports to Artistic/Executive Director
40 hours a week
Salary commensurate with experience (currently no benefits)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching and Choreographing Acrobatics and Other Circus Arts
Developing Acrobatic curriculum
Problem solving
Mentoring
Saying ‘yes’ and helping to make it happen; saying ‘no’ and offering an alternative— knowing when to do which!
Making dreams come true
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
10+ years of experience in Circus teaching and performing
Knowledge of all circus genres to basic level
High skill level in teaching at least one circus genre
COMPETENCIES
Great organizational skills
Tremendous communication skills both in person, written and electronic
Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and be both independent and a team player
Understanding that we are teaching more than just circus arts
Demonstrate integrity and good judgment
Common sense and a sense of humor
