Description:HARMONY ARTS approaches education with the understanding that multiple forms ofintelligence and diverse learning styles exist. All paths lead to mastery. We encourage students to explore their range of intelligence. Our classes and workshops are playful environments where learning happens with motion and movement. The position is meant to be enhanced by a teacher, who not only facilitates our Play + Learn classes and workshops but serves as a model of our Required Competencies. CONTRACT POSITION $35 per 60 minute class Weekly Schedules | Reliable Transportation Req’d Contracted Areas: South LA, Orange County, North SD HA is hiring teachers to facilitate 60-120 minute classes and events. Teachers will work with either children or adults, depending on class type. Available classes include homeschool enrichment for school aged children, adults workshops and public events. Instructor placements will be selected based on experience. Currently scheduling new instructors with two to four (60) minute classes per week. As attendance develops, instructors can expect the opportunity to build a more robust schedule. Teacher may be called upon for instruction for a variety of ages and skill levels, including all students K-12. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Exceptional ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas eectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as deep listening skills to gain understanding. Prioritizing emotional intelligence. Recognizing the unique values, perspectives, strengths, and challenges of every person who enrolls in a HA class or workshop. Demonstrating high levels of self/social awareness, self-management, empathy, and curiosity. Harmy Arts Clective Making the world a more playful place to learn HarmonyArtsCo.com/Teach Harmy Arts Clective Making the world a more playful place to learn HOOP DANCE INSTRUCTOR EXPECTATIONS OF TEACHER Create an inclusive environment, welcoming all students as part of one community Support individual development of a healthy self-image and growth mindset Celebrate individual progress and promote positive self-relection Integrate diverse hoop dance styles, emphasizing cultural appreciation for indigenous origin of hoop dance and incorporation of new and individual styles Prepare students for opportunities to showcase what they have learned in end of semester showcase. The ideal teacher will facilitate both stimulating instruction and the reduction of disruptive or inappropriate conduct to ensure high-quality play + learn environment ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Teach participants how to hoop dance safely and eectively, including posture, body alignment, movement mechanics, dexterity development, and muscle control Integrate technology and music in eective ways that enhance students’ play experience and connection to movement Be a model of Required Competencies at all times. Cultivate an inclusive and challenging, but airming, learning environment that relects HA ethos and allows the diverse student body to grow conidence and thrive. Serve as an advisor who is committed to the social and emotional development of students Weekly updates with management to review and advise on class schedule. Participate in introductory Play + Learn training ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Experience with dance instruction Incorporation of dance into other areas, such as circus arts Willingness and availability to work outside of a typical school day
