Start Date for training: April 2024
Start Date for employment: First week of June 2024
SBTC is looking to hire and develop dedicated, detail-oriented, communicative athletes who wish to learn and then facilitate flying trapeze classes in our space at Vera Cruz Park in Santa Barbara. You will be trained by top-level professionals with decades of experience in all aspects of trapeze. We would like this entry level position to lead to regular, yet part-time employment on our team going forward. This is a year-round business with opportunities for advancement.
For the near future, we are looking for staff for Summer Camp from 9am-3pm, and/or for afternoon classes which might go as late as 8pm, from June 10th through August 31st.
It takes 1-2 months of training , 2 days per week, for which you will be compensated with class credits to be able to take classes as well as train, plus a minimum wage hourly fee.
There is a lot of physical labor involved as well as athletic training. Rigging gets moved about daily, there is upkeep on equipment and you will need to have your own transportation. You must be in top physical condition to start this journey and retain a good mood throughout with a generosity of spirit necessary to be successful in this demanding circus art form. There is no better job than to fly through the air and to train others to do so.
