General information
Founded in 1995, École de cirque de Québec is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the circus arts and stimulate the emergence of a new generation of artists. Located since January 2003 in the former Saint-Esprit church in Limoilou, the École is a place for recreational activities, professional training, research and creation in the circus arts.
Job description
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of the Professional Training Program is responsible for managing the training department.
Planning and organization
*Coordinate and supervise all department activities (non-exhaustive list):
*Managing student recruitment, auditions and registrations.
*Draw up the department's annual calendar of activities
*Coordinate department events (courses, public presentations, graduations, special activities).
*Ensure coordination between training activities and the organization as a whole.
*When required by the CEGEP Limoilou calendar, undertake the revision of the École de cirque's preparatory and advanced training program in collaboration with the coordinators.
*Participate, when necessary, in the School's various development projects.
*Help manage the department's budget and ensure it is respected.
Control and management
*Evaluate training content on an annual basis, in collaboration with training coordinators.
*Plan trainer development activities in collaboration with coordinators.
*Oversee the student evaluation process.
*Ensure a good working climate for all department employees.
*Participate in meetings of the School's Executive Committee.
*Attend meetings of the School's Board of Directors on request.
Representation
*Collaborate with General Management in representing the School.
*Follow up on agreements with partner schools (Cardinal-Roy, Lévis, CÉGEP, etc.).
*Maintain ties with the circus community, including schools, companies and affinity organizations.
*Participate in promoting the professional training program outside the school.
Human resources management
*Manages the human resources under his/her responsibility, encouraging their development and autonomy.
*Supervise the hiring of personnel under his/her responsibility (job offer, interview and selection of candidates).
*Coordinate, supervise and evaluate staff under his/her responsibility.
*Participate in the selection of directors for annual shows.
*Assign tasks and responsibilities to the department's human resources.
*Schedule follow-up meetings with employees.
*Hire trainers and set their annual salary rates in collaboration with general management.
Job requirements
*College or university education relevant to the position.
*Good knowledge of the circus milieu.
*Knowledge of pedagogy in general and circus pedagogy in particular, training techniques and pedagogical approach.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
*Good knowledge of current software

Working conditions
- 35 hours/week
- Salary according to current salary scale. 45.00/hour
