Job Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Creative Programme
Leading the Technical and production teams and working closely with creative teams to ensure the safe and smooth delivery of performances, and events within theatre and film.
Responsibility for technical management of screenings, events, private hires, performances, rehearsals, and workshops.
Work with the Interim CEO to ensure the timely and safe maintenance, procurement and replacement of all technical equipment
Managing negotiations on technical riders with touring venues and companies (including non-theatre venues) with support.
Delivering technical aspects of the delivery of access provision for all art forms
As required, manage the engagement of all sub-contractors required for all elements of the performance, rehearsals, and technical aspects of the project
People Management
Managing the Technical Team. Including proactive management of team delivery, appraisals and ongoing support and development.
Contributing to programme planning meetings as required
Manage freelance contracts and ensure the correct finance and HR processes are adhered to.
Financial Management
Working with the Finance Director on the management of technical and production budgets controlling financial risk.
Working with the Finance Director manage and reconcile the annual costs of the Technical Department.
Work to manage risk, workloads and maintain communication with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers as required.
Health and Safety
To assume responsibility for the Health and Safety of performances, rehearsals, workshops, and technical and production areas of the building. Ensuring standards of compliance are maintained throughout and accurate records are kept.
Oversee risk assessments all productions in collaboration with the Production Manager
Ensuring all required documentation is in place including appropriate risk assessments.
Job Requirements
To work closely with and supporting the Heads of Theatre, Cinema, Visual Art, Artist Development and Creative Development in delivering the artistic aims of the organisation by planning and supervising all technical aspects of programme production and presentation for HOME.
To contribute to the overall collective leadership and creative strategy for the organisation and to lead on key strategic priorities as appropriate. To work closely with the organisations Artistic, Creative and Artistic Development, Operations, Production, Finance, Development and Marketing and Communication teams to ensure that agreed artistic and business outcomes are achieved.
Job Responsibilities
You will lead the Technical Team which supports all programme areas, the events and hires operation and programming. Current staff team includes: Technical Management, Stage Management, Stage Lighting & Sound, Wardrobe, AV, and Cinema Projection, administrator and Freelance staff as required.
