Position type: contract position
Contract duration: Pre-production and training in fall 2023, European tour from January to May 2024
Location: Montreal, QC then touring in France, Belgium and Switzerland

ENTRE CIEL et MER combines circus arts, Cédric Landry's storytelling and the entirely rearranged live music of the group Suroît, and is a joyful manifesto of Acadian and Quebecois culture. A complete immersion in stories that have been passed down from generation to generation and come back to us with the sound of waves and the smell of seaweed. The show's team is made up of 10 artists and 4 technical crew members.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Producer, the incumbent is responsible for managing all lighting operations for the show, including pre-production, set-up and tear-down, as well as during performances.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure that the show's original lighting concept is respected, maintained and adapted;
- In collaboration with technical management, assist in planning for each venue;
- Coordinate and supervise local technical teams attached to the show's lighting department during unloading, set-up, rehearsals, performances and tear-down;
- Comply with current health and safety standards in the workplace and in the use of show equipment;
- Inspect and maintain show lighting equipment and maintain inventories;
- Operate lighting consoles during performances, rehearsals or any other operation requiring their use;
- Keep show lighting specifications and plans up to date.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Relevant training combined with 3 to 5 years' experience in touring shows;
- Must have excellent communication skills in French (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of circus arts a great asset;
- Comfortable working at heights;
- Versatility and resourcefulness;
- Ability to work independently, meticulously and rigorously;
- Ability to work in a changing environment, under pressure;
- Willingness to travel and work abroad for several consecutive weeks.
