We are seeking a Head of Events (Maternity Cover) to lead extraordinary experiences across our Flagship London attractions. From The London Eye and Madame Tussauds to SEA LIFE, Shrek’s Adventure London and The London Dungeon, you’ll shape unforgettable moments at these diverse range of iconic venues.Based at our offices in County Hall on the South Bank, this role combines both strategic leadership with practical involvement, requiring you to roll up your sleeves and oversee event planning, management, and delivery directly. Your creativity, commercial insight, and adaptability will help bring ambitious ideas to life while driving revenue and enhancing brand visibility. Your Key Responsibilities Collaborative Leadership: Partner with attraction operational teams to ensure the seamless planning and execution of events at Merlin’s legendary venues. Event Excellence: Develop event strategies, oversee budgets, and ensure operational alignment to deliver memorable, purpose-driven experiences. Driving Results: Support the commercial and marketing goals of our London attractions, ensuring events exceed revenue targets and enhance brand visibility. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with local teams, sponsors, and partners, fostering collaboration and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. Safety First: Ensure events meet the highest health and safety standards, with all risks managed and compliance guaranteed. This is a full-time contract position for 12 months (Maternity Cover). Due to the nature of the industry, you’ll work evenings, weekends and bank holidays where required to oversee event delivery. Qualifications & Experience We’re seeking a dynamic, experienced professional who: Holds a degree in Event Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Has a proven track record in event management, leadership, and stakeholder management as well as expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, and operational oversight Combines creativity with commercial acumen to drive revenue growth and brand success. Is committed to maintaining impeccable health and safety standards. Holds an in date personal license. Competence in event management software, as well as standard business software (e.g. Microsoft Office). A full driving licence preferred but not essential, as the role will require some travel between locations.
