Camp Lindenmere is looking for a Head of our Circus Department for our overnight Children's Summer Camp in the Pocono Mountains! #Circus #Circusjob
Located in Pennsylvania’s beautiful Pocono Mountains, Camp Lindenmere is a private, coed sleepaway camp with a long, rich history. Established in 1935, our focus is on the individual growth of each child. Our campers range in age from 7 to 17. We run Sports, Arts, Performing Arts, and Adventure Activities on a daily basis in our beautiful facilities.
We have an amazing camp community and a big part of that is because of our AMAZING STAFF!
Our Circus Department is a camp favorite!! Plenty of first-time and returning campers all looking to make every day a circus day!!
All of our staff serve as activity instructors (i.e. Circus and Flying Trapeze) and Bunk Counselors.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong and positive leadership skills to be awesome role models for our campers and staff.
- Able to communicate and work well with children and staff members.
- Able to teach/coach/guide beginners through to advanced skill level campers
- Full indoor circus setup with multiple different types of apparatus.
- Develop and deliver a Circus program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers
- Write lesson plans that meet camp outcomes and the abilities of the campers.
- Evaluate the abilities of campers and staff.
- Deliver progressive activities through skill development.
- Manage and supervise the activities throughout the summer.
- Evaluate the success of the program and make recommendations for the future.
- Coordinate and develop two camper shows and one staff show during the summer.
Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.

Compensation: We pay very competitive rates to attract the best staff. We cover Room and board, meals, team shirts, staff lounge with wifi, plus weekly laundry is all included.
Our staff members may act as a general counselor at certain points of the day while teaching their chosen activity area for the majority. In addition, we understand that a large part of the staff experience is socializing and down-time is important. We have a calendar of staff activities and events for time off. We also have a great staff lounge and are currently investing in staff perks.
