We’re looking for a dynamic, organised, and inspiring individual to lead and grow our Children’s and Youth Aerial Programme. This is a unique opportunity to step into a creative leadership role at one of London's most respected aerial schools, working with a passionate team and a vibrant young community.
As Head of Children’s and Youth Aerial, you will:
- Teach on the afterschool and weekend programmes leading a team
- Lead, support, and upskill our team of children’s and youth aerial teachers, ensuring consistency, safety, and creativity across all classes.
- Work as part of the management team as a head of department.
- Help deliver a consistent aerial plan within the My Aerial Home remit.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for both staff and students.
- Work closely with the management office to develop and grow the children's and teen programme, bringing fresh ideas and strategic thinking.
- Plan and deliver creative projects such as student showcases, seasonal events, and performance opportunities for young people.
- Manage event budgets and timelines with confidence and efficiency.
- Be a key communicator across the team, parents, and students.
- Undertake some evening and weekend work as part of the role.
Requirements:
Strong background in aerial arts, with specific experience in teaching children and young people.
Excellent aerial ability in a cross section of skills.
Proven ability to lead and support a team, providing mentorship and professional development.
Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and interpersonal.
Good computer literacy and numeracy – able to handle admin, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting tasks and willing to learn new systems.
A creative thinker with the ability to turn ideas into reality, especially when it comes to student shows and events.
Organised, proactive, and passionate about inclusive, high-quality aerial education.
Desirable:
Experience working in or leading aerial or performing arts programmes for youth.
Familiarity with safeguarding practices and procedures for working with children.
