Head Coach - Artistic Gymnasticsexpired

Prince Rupert Gymnastics

Canada Canada, Prince Rupert
Posted on: May 29, 2019

Description:

Prince Rupert is a beautiful coastal community on the North Coast of British Columbia. The City offers a wide range of activities for all residents. Our mild climate allows year round outdoor activities, but with access to the local ski hill just 1 hour away you are still able to enjoy the winter activities. Hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, kayaking are just some of the outdoor activities that are accessible within minutes from your front door. Economic activity is also on the rise in Prince Rupert with the expansion and introduction of various new industrial projects to the area.

Established in 2014, the Prince Rupert Gymnastics Association (PRGA) is a Non-Profit organization which has experienced phenomenal growth in a very short period of time. The community of Prince Rupert is full of vibrant and active people and annually our gymnastics club holds over 300 memberships with Gymnastics BC.

Our current gym is a 3,600 square foot facility with brand new equipment (installed December 2016) which was custom ordered for the space we occupy. This equipment was 100 % acquired with fundraising with a 50% donation by the Port of Prince Rupert. Our organization is very well received in our community. Because of our not-for-profit status we are able to apply for grants and fund raise for gym upgrades. We are working with the City of Prince Rupert to move into a much larger facility because of the growth and success of our club. The new facility will be 10,000 square feet or more and we are very excited to grow into this space with our new head coach.

We have a strong competitive program with 30 athletes participating in this current season. We are very proud the 29 of the 30 qualified to attend the JO 1-5 BC Compulsory Championships this year in Langley, BC where 14 of our athletes were able to attend the competition. We had several medals and ribbons awarded during the competition!

18 other placements 4th -10th in various events.

In our zone (Prince Rupert, Terrace, Smithers, Houston, Kitimat-Zone 7) our athletes compete extremely well. We attended 3 competitions in our Zone this year and in following years we hope to travel with our competitive teams to other places in the province and Canada to gain even more experience.

Our recreation program is full of fun and active children! The City of Prince Rupert is a beautiful coastal town surrounded by temperate rain forest where indoor activities are essential to the community to keep our children active and healthy. We encourage ongoing training to bring new and exciting gymnastics recreational programs to our club. We would love to see other fun programs, cross training other teams in the community, trampoline and fun recreational camps as well! We are very supportive of the ideas that a new head coach will bring to our programming and excited to put these plans into action.

The successful candidate will be integral in the growth of our club and will have the opportunity to work with with all levels of athletes (currently we have recreational level to JO level 6) and will aid in the continued growth and addition of future programs.

Because the sport of gymnastics is new to Prince Rupert we are developing our athletes to become future coaches. We also have a very active dance community where we have hired coaches with dance and choreography experience.

The PRGA is open to having two coaches join our team together, whether a couple or colleagues, as we feel that our club would benefit the most with 2 experienced people to fully develop the potential in our organization.

Our salary will be more than competitive and we are looking to develop a long term relationship in order to build our organization to the fullest potential.

Starting Salary for a Head Coach with equivalent of Level 3 Artistic Gymnastics would be $50,000-60,000/year (depending on experience) including a benefit package paid 80% by the employer, negotiable depending on credentials. If applying as a head coach assistant coach team, the secondary person’s wage would start at $40,000/year including a benefit package paid 80% by the employer, negotiable depending on the success of the organization.

Please send your resume with cover letter, credentials, including any video’s you would like via email.
