Description:POSITIONHead Carpenter REPORTS TO Production Manager / Company Manager CONTRACT Broadway League Modified Pink Contract COMPENSATION $1,910 per week + all applicable overtime (per Broadway League Modified Pink Contract) BENEFITS Per IATSE Broadway League Modified Pink Contract TRAVEL & PER DIEM Per IATSE Broadway League Modified Pink Contract START DATE January 12, 2026 Position Summary RIVERDANCE is seeking a Head Carpenter for the 2026 U.S. National Tour season. This is an IATSE Modified Pink Tour Contract. Entering its 31st year, Riverdance continues to tour with a dedicated family of dancers and crew who return year after year. The Head Carpenter will oversee the technical advance for each venue, manage payroll, and coordinate with all departments upon arrival in each city. They serve as the primary contact for truck drivers to ensure the show stays on schedule, and will work closely with the Company Manager to support crew needs both at hotels and venues. Roles & Responsibilities Advance all technical elements with input from department heads (electrics, audio, wardrobe, stage management, company management) Coordinate trucking schedules with the lead driver Oversee load-in of a 56’x28’ sprung floor Oversee the hang of all soft goods and chain motors Install all scenic elements (platforms, steps, masking flats) Ensure backstage safety and navigability in collaboration with stage management Track crew hours and submit weekly payroll to Company & Production Management Communicate advance information with other department heads as needed Prepare truck schedules and coordinate with the lead driver and dispatch Supervise load-in/out for three touring trucks Coordinate local labor with venue staff to ensure safe and efficient calls Sign off on local payroll with Company Manager, ensuring accurate labor charges Maintain artistic integrity of Riverdance in venues with non-standard layouts Desired Experience & Qualifications Team player, able to work long hours in close quarters with diverse personalities Strong knowledge of IATSE Pink Contract rules and guidelines Excellent organizational and communication skills (including email record-keeping) Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (or Google Sheets) Experience working in AutoCAD Scenic carpentry skills (woodworking, metalworking, mechanics, fabric repairs) Theatrical rigging knowledge (counterweight systems, chain motor repair required) Strong troubleshooting skills in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments Minimum 3 years’ experience on an IATSE Pink Contract touring production as Carpenter (equivalent experience considered) Minimum 1 year as Head Carpenter on an IATSE Pink Contract touring production Familiarity with road venues across the U.S. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with individuals from varied cultural, educational, and social backgrounds
