Job Title: Hair/Wig Make-up Artisan
Department: Production
Reports To: Costume Shop Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Seasonal Full-Time
Pay Tier: 4
Compensation: $20.00-$22.50/hour ($800-$900/week) up to 50 weeks. Competitive benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, voluntary supplemental benefits, 401(k), vacation, sick time, personal time, and paid holidays

Summary
Trinity Repertory Company seeks a hair/wig + make-up artisan to join our fast-paced Costume Department. The hair/wig + make-up artisan, under general direction prepares, maintains, sources, constructs wigs, and executes hair and make-up plans based on the designs of the costume designer, throughout the season. The hair/wig + make-up artisan will work closely with the costume shop director to plan and execute workflow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
+bull; Keeps wig room and organizations paces clean and tidy, letting supervisor know when show supplies are needed
+bull; Leads all head tracings, hair and make-up consultations, and wig fittings
+bull; Attends technical rehearsals and dressing rehearsals
+bull; Carries out all construction, ventilation, and alterations for wigs/hairpieces/facial hair
+bull; Carries out all of the initial hair/make-up styling, and provides tools/materials/instruction to actor and/or wardrobe crew for execution throughout the run
+bull; Trains wardrobe crew on show-specific hair/wig/make-up needs and daily maintenance
+bull; Gives actors haircuts as needed, per show
+bull; Maintains the integrity of the design throughout the run
+bull; Coordinates specialty salon appointments for hair or nails
+bull; Leads wash/strike at the end of the run
+bull; Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
+bull; Five or more years of professional experience and/or training in theatrical wig construction/styling; certification from hair stylist program; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical Skills/Computer Skills
Knowledge of theatrical production practices and procedures. Familiarity with COVID-19 safety regulations.
+bull; Effective communication skills
+bull; Extensive wig construction knowledge of techniques and materials
+bull; Extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience with various human hair types, as well as synthetic hair
+bull; Make-up skills
+bull; Basic sewing skills
+bull; Microsoft Office Suite
+bull; Google Workspace
+bull; File share software (Dropbox, One Drive)
Language Skills
Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate transparently and effectively across mediums. The ability and passion to work inclusively with all ages and diverse populations.
Certifications
+bull; Valid driver+rsquo;s license
