Job offer | FUDGE Festival Coordinator
The Sursaut dance company wishes to expand its team in order to support the development and organization of the second edition of FUDGE, (Universal Festival of Brilliant Dance for Children), an international contemporary dance festival for young audiences and families who will take place from May 22 to 26, 2024 in Sherbrooke. 44-week contract from the end of August 2023.
In collaboration with the artistic direction of the festival, the administrative direction and the heads of each department of the company, the incumbent coordinates the second edition of the FUDGE festival and the artistic projects assigned to it. More specifically, he or she fulfills the following responsibilities and tasks:
Ensures the implementation and general coordination of the FUDGE festival;
Establishes and coordinates the production schedule for the festival in collaboration with the team (programming, communications, administration, technical and logistics);
Participates in the search for funding and partnerships;
Collaborates in the development of the production budget and ensures budget monitoring;
Produces a schedule, prepares and leads project progress meetings;
Maintains the databases relating to the various projects;
Participates in the hiring and supervises contract workers, interns and volunteers;
Ensures the logistical aspects (request for authorizations, etc.);
Supports the team by performing certain administrative tasks (permit application, information research, preparation of contracts, etc.)
Ensures the security of the festival premises, the work safety of artists, employees and volunteers;
Negotiate with suppliers for the production of the festival;
Coordinates operations during the festival: organize logistics, supervise the technique in conjunction with the technical director and supervise the teams (team in place annually and team set up for the event: contract workers, interns, volunteers);
Welcomes artists according to requests for technical estimates;
Participates in the writing of post-event reports;
Contributes to the implementation of an eco-responsible festival including aspects of accessibility, equity and inclusion (sustainable development).
REQUIRED PROFILE
Experience in event coordination and logistics;
Knowledge of the artistic and cultural milieu, particularly in the performing arts;
Ability to work effectively in a team;
Excellent command of the oral and written French language, good knowledge of English;
Mastery of the Office 365 suite;
Ability to adapt, initiative, creativity and keen sense of organization
Possess a driver's license
Ideally have a cell phone and a laptop
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full-time contract for a period of 44 weeks from the end of August 2023 to June 2024;
Salary starting at $22/h;
6% for holidays;
Flexibility in working hours according to the needs of planned activities, work/family balance, personal leave, family benefits for company activities;
Possibility of remote work, with an increased presence in Sherbrooke in the spring of 2024;
Be present on site during the festival;
Work desk at the Center des arts de la scène Jean-Besré in Sherbrooke .
