Programming the Pulse of Live Performance

As a Flying Rigging Programmer for a nightly show, you manage the motion behind the magic—ensuring that every scenic shift, lift, and automated effect happens with precision, safety, and perfect timing. From flying elements to moving platforms, you’ll program and operate the automation systems that keep the show running smoothly, night after night.

Job Snapshot

Automation programming in a live show environment is all about consistency, adaptability, and trust. Every cue is a moment of coordination between technology and performance—and you’ll be behind the scenes making sure it all moves exactly when and how it should.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

Operate and troubleshoot PRG Commander systems during live shows
Collaborate with stage managers, riggers, and technical teams to ensure seamless integration and safety
Program PRG Commander systems to control rigging and automation elements with accuracy
Maintain cue sheets, system logs, and safety protocols for nightly operations
Stay sharp under pressure, ready to adjust and respond in real time
