Oddly Moving are seeking a female/womxn circus performer specialising in Acrobatic Flow & Basing to work with us in the creation of our new show ATLAS. We are especially interested in performers from ethnic minority backgrounds but will consider all applicants with the relevant skills and experience.



Oddly Moving tell stories on the outskirts of normal using circus, physical theatre and storytelling. ATLAS is our second show following a U.K. tour of ‘He Ain’t Heavy.’ It is directed by Charlotte Mooney and produced by Turtle Key Arts.

ATLAS – info about the show

ATLAS will retell the Greek myth of Atlas carrying the world, and reflect on themes of responsibility, choice, physical and emotional weight, in particular relating to those with an ‘Atlas personality’ who carried extra responsibilities as children and how this affects their experiences as adults. We will draw from the skills and autobiographies of the performers to reflect what weight we are carrying and how we individually manage it.



Subject to funding and latest government guidelines.



Who we are looking for

We are looking for a performer who has the following attributes:



Primary skill is Acrobatic Flow

Secondary skill is basing/strong enough to safely hold heavy objects above head

Excited by devising new work

Comfortable speaking on stage

Able to draw from their autobiographical material relating to the themes

Experience or interest in juggling is a bonus

Based in the U.K.



Further Information:

Call out deadline 5th February 2021

Auditions will take place over Zoom on the 11th & 12 February 2021.

Rehearsals will take place between 15th March – 14th May 2021*

Production & Premiere 15th May 2021 with further touring performance dates on 19th & 27th May 2021.



*Covid safety measures have been taken into account to facilitate rehearsals. Rehearsals & performances will be dependent on government guidelines and everyone’s safety is our priority.

We will know funding outcome before auditions take place.



Upon job offer we follow the ITC’s recommended rates of pay. Travel will be paid as well as per diems and accommodation where necessary.
