Description:
Cirque du Soleil is looking for a mezzo-soprano/actress/instrumentalist singer with extensive stage experience and extraordinary charisma for its new touring creation due in 2025.
Character trait:
- 18 years or older
- Be ready and available for international touring
- From the black community
Singing/Acting
- Mezzo-soprano with a sultry tone and warm lower register
- Must be comfortable with belting
- Must be comfortable with a variety of contemporary styles
- Must be able to embody soulful style
- Must be a very charismatic and versatile singer
- Must be in excellent physical shape
- Must be a confident, convincing actress
- Must have professional performing experience
- Knowledge of Ableton software, an asset
Instruments
Technical and expressive mastery of ONE of these two instrumental profiles:
A) Guitar and/or banjo
or
B) Clarinet (preferable) or oboe or flute
Playing a harmonic instrument (keyboard, piano, etc.) at an average level, an asset.
In the case of profile B) Commitment to learning the duduk, with the help of professional coaching provided by Cirque du Soleil, for the start of the show rehearsals.

4 B) Wind instrument demos: Demonstrate your highest technical and expressive level with a piece or improvisation that showcases the possibilities of your instrument. Max 01 :30 (may be several excerpts).
5. A recent video and/or demo tape showing your full vocal range and your ability to interpret a variety of singing styles and techniques.
6. A video that clearly demonstrates your charisma and experience on stage.
7. Prepare a short 1–2-minute presentation: we'd like you to tell us about your career path, your achievements, your future goals and, in general, what got you to where you are today.
