LEGOLAND Florida Resort is seeking an Entertainment technical captain who is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and proactive. Our technical captain positions fuse planning and daily operational support over key technical business areas This role oversees ownership of the Scenic/Theming/Staging shops, processes, and business support processes including but not limited to daily show note maintenance, production planning, production installation, strike, inventory, safety, organization and cleanliness which support all Core Entertainment Offerings (shows, consumer events, special events, and production experiences). What you’ll be doing... - Serve as daily leadership over all functions of the Scenic/Theming/Staging technical support areas for the Entertainment Department including but not limited to: Scenic Carpentry, Theming, Painting, Finishing Work, Shop Inventory, Material Ordering, Construction Documentation - Work with the Creative Development & Planning teams on idealizing scenic & prop renderings working within Vectorworks and other CAD programs to develop construction docs, cut sheets, material lists as required to execute in product creation. - Complete administrative duties as assigned including but not limited to: scheduling, time keeping and payroll, performance tracking, daily show reports reviews for technical notes, show archiving and production book upkeep, updating of Standard Operating Procedures, creating daily punch lists, project timeline management - Act as lead in fabrication, installation, strike, and storage of all scenic and theming process - Attend all production meetings for existing and upcoming productions as requested - Maintain Shop supply materials and equipment inventory counts to remain within PAR standards - Aid in technician development and training within the job scope of scenic / theming details including but not limited to: basic tool usage, basic carpentry, tool safety, painting finishing techniques, working with molds and castings - Responsible for leading technical crews as assigned. - Act as front line management representative and liaison with Entertainment Technical Support, Production Management, and Creative & Talent Development leadership teams. - Foster a fun, safe, positive, and professional work environment & serve as a park leadership ambassador for guests - Cross train into other roles providing technical coverage and/or train for department duty shifts. - Provide technical support and service for events or for other department needs, and performer other functions as directed by Entertainment leadership when benefiting the department and the Resort. Who we’re looking for... -Minimum (2) years practical Technical Scenic/Theming Shop Leadership experience or a similar combination of theme park / entertainment industry leadership experience. - Minimum (3) years of technical entertainment experience in a theme park or closely related field. - Must have excellent organizational, problem solving and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. - Strong and proven knowledge of entertainment shows, event and experience logistics, including but not limited to:, Scenic & theming details from carpentry, finishing, to painting, General rigging practices, Portable staging set-up, equipment, inventory, and tool organizational abilities, shop safety and usage of power tools and heavy machinery such as forklift and aerial lift platforms, basic theatrical lighting and audio systems. - Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). - Knowledge of using AutoCAD / Vectorworks preferred - Knowledge of Painting Techniques, Usage of Plastics preferred. - Must have flexible schedule/hours including ability to work holidays and as well as work in conditions subject to Florida Summer Sun & Heat. - Must submit a resume to be considered for the position.
