Description:Veritas Entertainment are delighted to be creating the ultimate tribute to the music of The Temptations, with the Olivier-nominated actor and choreographer Jason Pennycooke as Director and Choreographer. Veritas are very excited to be creating a filmed industry showcase to publicise ‘Just My Imagination’ to many potential bookers across the globe.We are looking for energetic and motivated performers to recreate this slick, lively and dynamic show. All actors should have the ability to embody the spirit, essence, appeal and presence of the Temptations. The look, the style, the poise, the grace, and above all else, the heart and soul. The band members are known for their choreography, distinct harmonies, and dress style. Having sold tens of millions of albums, the Temptations are arguably the most famous RnB group of all time. Great singing, performance and movement skills are a must, as well as a good work ethic and willingness to train hard. You don’t have to be technically trained but you do have to be able to pick up complex group routines and harmonies, as well as having an air of individuality about you. We would also like to inform performers that we will need them to learn the majority of the material prior to rehearsals. Veritas will provide all the necessary materials via Dropbox. Someone confident and with great stamina to sustain high notes off the back of high energy routines. Fly dresser, vocal arranger. Charmer and ladies’ man. Swooning many with his silky high register. Someone comfortable with audience interaction, and good isolation movement. Vocal range: High tenor. Bottom B to top C. Playing age: 28–40 years Appearance: African-American, Black-Other Areas, Black-Caribbean, Black-African Rehearsal Dates - 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th & 16th April Showcase - 10-13th May (artists will only be need for a few hours on one day) Rehearsal & showcase total fee: £560 David Ruffin (Male, 28–40 years) Assured, attested confident singer and dancer. Uniquely raspy vocals with lots of tenor/rock range. A proper showman/show off. Popular with the ladies and should have the energy of living life in the edge. A huge ego, that often gets in the way of his continued success. Vocal range: Tenor. Bottom B to top G Playing age: 28–40 years Appearance: African-American, Black-Other Areas, Black-Caribbean, Black-African Rehearsal Dates - 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th & 16th April Showcase - 10-13th May (artists will only be need for a few hours on one day) Rehearsal & showcase total fee: £560 Paul Williams (Male, 28–40 years) Considered The Temptations best dancer, as well as singing lead on numerous tracks, he was the bands choreographer. If possible, a performer who has that extra something special as a dancer. Stuck up a lot for Ruffins dalliances and was also the peacekeeper of the group. Someone mild mannered, friendly and approachable. With the style of Prince/Bruno Mars. Vocal range: Tenor. Bottom B to top G Playing age: 28–40 years Appearance: African-American, Black-Other Areas, Black-Caribbean, Black-African Rehearsal Dates - 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th & 16th April Showcase - 10-13th May (artists will only be need for a few hours on one day) Rehearsal & showcase total fee: £560 Otis Williams (Male, 28–40 years) Fabulous dancer with solid vocal for harmonies. Otis is stoic, forth right and determined. The linchpin of the group. Good strong lead, with ability to hold an audience. He should have charm and flare in equal measure. A no nonsense kind of guy. Vocal range: High Baritone. Bottom G to top E Playing age: 28–40 years Appearance: African-American, Black-Other Areas, Black-Caribbean, Black-African Rehearsal Dates - 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th & 16th April Showcase - 10-13th May (artists will only be need for a few hours on one day) Rehearsal & showcase total fee: £560 Melvin Franklin (Male, 28–40 years) Mr. Bass, good solid stage presence, although he should be able to move, he doesn’t have to, to grab attention. He should have an extra measure of stage presence, to go with those clef tones. Cool calm, and effortless performer. The antithesis of David Ruffin. Steely eyed, and alluring. Vocal range: Bass.
