EFFEA Residency

The European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists (EFFEA) is opening its fourth call from 1 September to 3 November 2025. This call will support around 50 residencies in 2026, and will give at least 50 emerging artists the opportunity to collaborate with some 150 festivals in Europe and beyond. ( EffEa )
What is an EFFEA residency?
An EFFEA residency offers emerging artists the time, space, and support to develop new ideas or further develop (existing) projects. Each residency is supported by a partnership of at least three festivals from different countries (one leading festival + two partners). ( EffEa )
Two categories
EFFEA Discovery : for early-stage artists with clear international potential. Approximately 40 grants of €8,000 each are available.
EFFEA Springboard : for artists already working in their home country and ready to break through internationally. Approximately 10 grants of €15,000 are available.
Who can participate?
Artists or groups working in disciplines such as circus, music, theatre, dance, interdisciplinary work, street art, etc.
No age limit — “emerging” refers to their position in relation to programmers and the public.
Festivals must be located in the participating (or partner) countries as stated in the call.
Practical
Application deadline: November 3, 2025
During the call, the EFFEA organisations will host “Sessions” (info, Q&A, networking) every Tuesday at 11:00 CEST.
