DESCRIPTION
Elmwood Day Camp is seeking a Drama Specialist for the summer of 2024 to join our camp family. The Drama specialist at Elmwood is a part of an elite team of trained specialists who are each dedicated to the development of each camper’s skills in their specialized activity.
Responsibilities with campers include but are not limited to:
Co-developing age appropriate Drama curriculum with other preforming arts staff
Teaching the fundamentals of drama, music, dance, etc. to small groups of campers
Promoting creativity and self-expression for campers
Organizing supplies
Giving direction to counselors to utilize them within activity
Ensuring campers safety and well-being
Communicating with Performing Arts Director
Being part of our incredible camp community
The Drama Specialist position is a full-time commitment of 8 weeks – Monday through Friday from 8:20 – 4:10, plus 2-3 days of mandatory staff orientation.
The right candidate:
Is a college Student or College Grad
Has previous experience working with children
Elmwood is a children’s day camp located in Westchester, NY, in a beautiful wooded residential section of White Plains. As a part of the Elmwood team, staff members are sure to enjoy the challenges, triumphs, responsibilities, rewards and fun that make up each day. We believe that in the process of making Elmwood “a great place to be me” for each camper, our staff members find that they too are in “a great place to be me”. We have a high energy and friendly staff. We offer optional staff rec events post camp to allow staff to get to know each other after the camp day.
Camp Dates: June 27 – August 22 (closed July 4th & 5th)
Transportation is available from NYC.
