Description:Job positions are expected to be contracted by the end of May 2019, with start dates in August-September 2019. Director of Studies applications will not be accepted after February 28, 2019.Director of Studies (Part Time) Circadium's Director of Studies will work with the Executive Director to oversee the school's academic program. Job responsibilities include: · Developing the school's curriculum · Documenting and updating course objectives · Ensuring that course syllabi are updated, distributed and in alignment (with each other, and with the course objectives) · Overseeing each student's path to graduation, and ensuring that he / she has the necessary space, equipment, and instructors · Coordinating and running faculty meetings (Core faculty 1x / week, departmental meetings 1x / month, full faculty meetings 1x / trimester) · Serving as liaison between the administration and the faculty · Planning, in the spring, the following year's course timetable and instructor schedules · Each term, reviewing objectives and timetables, and communicating with the rest of the faculty as needed · Participating in committees to review school policies & procedures · Participating in school strategic planning Minimum Requirements · A bachelor's degree from an accredited university · At least 3 years experience working in higher education · Education management experience · Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills · Proficiency with Microsoft Office software · Ability to easily adapt to new technology · Creativity, flexibility, and initiative The Director of Studies position could become Full-Time, if the candidate is also able to teach 10-12 hours per week, in his / her particular discipline (physical circus skills, or dance). Full-time additional requirements: · Broad and deep understanding of contemporary circus · Ability to teach, at an advanced level, at least one of the following: Acrobatics Aerials Juggling and/or Equilibristics Dance Instructors Circadium has a regular need for highly-experienced instructors who are able to integrate arts & athletic training in a higher-education framework.
