Almanac Dance Circus Theatre, a fiscally sponsored LLC, is a movement-based performing arts ensemble, fusing acrobatics, storytelling, dance, and physicality. We produce original, award-winning, audience-inspiring works of genre-defying heart, while providing world-class training to local and non-local artists. We create evening-length performances, site-specific work, and immersive experiences, and provide educational workshops/programming, and community/youth outreach. In all of our programming, we strive for originality and the highest possible quality. We have been nominated for four Barrymore Awards, including Best Overall Production and have won two for Best Original Music and Best Movement/Choreography. Our recent production of xoxo moongirl toured to Vermont, Mexico and Edinburgh Fringe where it won a Fringe Forward Award in 2019. We are currently developing four full length productions and actively growing our community and educational programming. Over the next five years, we aim to become a full-time touring company with strong roots in Philadelphia.
Position Overview
Almanac Dance Circus Theatre is seeking a part-time Development Director. This person will grow our individual giving and oversee our Client Records Management. In addition, he/she/they will assist in cultivating a robust Board of Directors to carry Almanac into the future. Some grant writing and/or grant identifying may also be included. We plan to maintain the position for 6 months with an evaluation after the 4th month. Continuation of the position will be a mutual decision between the hiree and Almanac.
Qualifications/Requirements: Exceptional organizational skills with superb attention to detail; Adept at working on numerous projects at once; Excellent writing skills; Ability and interest in learning new procedures on the job; Strong interpersonal skills; Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite, Access, Excel and Word; Airtable experience preferred; Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and high expectations; willingness to push limits of existing abilities of the department to meet changing needs; Proficiency in Spanish a plus
