Description:Job SummaryShakespeare’s Globe is looking for a Deputy Head of Props (Maternity cover) to join our Theatre and Performance team Job Description The role: The Deputy Head of Props works closely with the Head of Props to create props for productions in a practical, sustainable manner. They will deputise for the Head of Props as needed and support the smooth running of the Props Department. They will assist the Head of Props to supervise freelance makers, ensuring work is scheduled efficiently and adheres to the Globe's health and safety and sustainability policies. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years relevant experience in prop making in a professional theatre or similar. We're looking for someone with proven experience used a variety of prop making materials and techniques, working with a range of materials and being open to the challenges of working sustainably with new products. The person in post will have proven basic skills in carpentry, sculpture, painting, moulding and casting, and sewing. The Deputy Head of Props will be a supportive team member with great communications skills, with the ability to deal with people at different levels.
