Description:LuneAseas’ Casting Call for the 5 Points Nutcracker and 2025 SeasonWe are looking for dancers and actors that: 1. Love to collaborate and create 2. Work in multidisciplinary performing arts mediums, especially physical theatre We are casting for a special projects in December and dancer’s interested in being apart of the core company to learn rep and be apart of projects though out our 2024-2025 season. We are seeking professional BIPOC dancers and choreographers to collaborate with us on the 5 Points Nutcracker. LuneAseas also seeks core company members to learn repertory work for contracted projects, immersive performances, and shows for our 2024-2025, rehearsals will be in our Loveland Artworks Studio and in Lakewood, CO. About the 5 Points Nutcracker: The 5 Points Nutcracker is an immersive theatre project of love that infuses the rich history of 5 Points Denver using the Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker. We will be delicately highlighting important historical figures from 5 Points. This production at the Savoy, directed by Larea Edwards, will a have live score with the Boulder Philharmonic, original story telling, choreography illusionary costumery, and visual installations by a BIPOC cast. Ideal candidate: Has the qualities from the list above, is easy to work with, dedicated to the success of the project, has an innovative edge, and has a heart for telling history. Casting roles for: Sugar Rum Cherry (Principle), Dolls (Soloist), Rat King, Flowers, Party Guest (Ensemble). Details: Rehearsal Schedule: Approximately 8-6 studio rehearsals, typically held on Sunday afternoons from 2-6 PM in Lakewood, beginning at the end of October. There will also be two dress/tech rehearsals. 5 Points Nutcracker Schedule: Studio Rehearsals: October 20 – December 8 Preview Show: December 12 at Dickens Opera House, Longmont Preview Show: December 13 at Center for Creativity, Fort Collins Tech/Dress Rehearsals & Load-In: December 18-19 at The Savoy, Denver Performances: December 20, 21, 22 at The Savoy, Denver Potential Extra Performance & Load-Out: December 23 at The Savoy, Denver For the preview shows carpooling is encouraged. 2025 performances will be in Fort Collins and Denver with ongoing Sunday rehearsals and meetups January-June. Roles Available: 2 Dancers for two larger ensemble pieces 2 Actors for main roles Performers for three shadow movement pieces Compensation: Pay is $100-$162.37 per performance, based on role and experience. We are also working on securing additional funding for rehearsal stipends. Requirements: Applicant must be located within 50 miles of Denver, Colorado. Must a resume, reel, and one minute of movement improvisation. Where: Lakewood, CO, USA When: Auditions will be scheduled upon receipt of application materials.
